Welcome to the Trace Garden! The garden can be found along Dana Avenue across from the Rose Garden Library.

The current plan for the garden is to create an outdoor classroom and social space that is surrounded by multiple California plant communities that can be naturalized in our warming climate. We want children and classrooms to use the space for learning and growing. We also want Trace students and families to contribute to tending the garden.

In the fall of 2022, we held a coastal sage scrub and oak grassland habitat planting with 9 Trace classrooms. These students and their teachers planted over 50 plants in our garden!

Currently, there are several plant communities growing in the raised beds including plants from our local foothills, coastal sage scrub, and oak grassland. The plants are small now but with rain and time they’ll be bursting with color and life!

Come Join Us!

There will be a community planting on Saturday March 4th from 9am-12pm. We will have refreshments, garden gloves, good music, and kid activities. We will be planting oak woodland and redwood forest plants.

If you have reusable water bottles, gloves, and tools, feel free bring them. Shovels, spades, and clippers are needed.
